November 21, 1927 – May 29, 2016
Lieut-Colonel Robert Chapman (Bob) was promoted to Glory at Pineview Terrace Home peacefully while surrounded by his loving family. He was very proud of his Godly heritage which went back to the early days of The Salvation Army in London, England. At the young age of 18 Bob followed God’s call and entered the Salvation Army Training College where he met his wife Alvina. Together, Bob and Alvina served in various positions throughout Canada, for a combined total of more than 95 years. Bob retired as the assistant chief secretary of the Salvation Army in Canada but remained active throughout his retirement. Bob was a man who loved to have fun and was able to balance his career responsibilities while spending time with his family and friends. He extended his love and friendship to many new Canadians who affectionately knew him as “grandpa”. His unwavering faith, love and kindness will be missed by many. Bob is joined in heaven with his wife Alvina, son Bob Jr., daughter-in-law Ruth and grandsons Ross and Timothy. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Carolyn (Dave); grandchildren Erin (Kevin), Heather (Ryan), Stephanie (Brann), Christopher and his great grandchildren. He has now received his “well done” and is celebrating with his Lord and savior and family and friends. Join us as we Celebrate his life at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Salvation Army Church, 163 – 12th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Major Mike Hoeft officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
