Elsie Lillian Halkett was born on Monday, November 22, 1943, in Little Hills, SK, and passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016, in La Ronge, SK, at the age of 72 years. Elsie is survived by her loving family, her husband of 55 years, James Halkett, her children, Stan (Christina), Jonas, Doris (Rene), Williard (Flora), Colin, Glen, Jeffrey (Anne) and Sheldon Halkett, her grandchildren, Jennifer, William, Charlene, Dana, Jonas, Jason, Bianca (Thomas), Alexis, Ashley, Alysha, Azteca, Renelda, Willard Jr., Chad, Jeremy, James, Darryl, Delphine, Tyrone, Jeff, Elsie, Zacheus, Marcus, Glenna, Jasmine and Roberta, her 17 great-grandchildren, her godchildren, Dolly Charles, Shaina Ratt, Bianca McKenzie, Jozie, Flora and Elsie, her brothers and sisters, Hilda (Colin) Venne, Eliza Ratt, Rose (John) Charles, Julia (Calvin) Charles, Daniel (Irene) Halkett, George (Mary Jane) Halkett, her half-sisters, Harriet Simpson and Martha J. Ross, her half-brother, William Charlie Ross, her special niece, Elsie, her brothers-in-law, Thompson Halkett, Stanley Halkett and Skeezix Forest, and her sisters-in-law, Mary Joinson, Doris Morin (Brian Clavier) and Mary Ann Halkett. She was predeceased by her daughter, Charlotte, her sons, Colin, Tommy and Van, her granddaughter, Barbara Lillian Bird, her great-granddaughter, Della Star Johnson, her parents, Moses & Maria Halkett, her brother, John James Halkett, her aunts and uncles, Frank Ross, Eliza Ross, Grace Ross and Harry Paul, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Archdeacon Charles and Flora (nee Venne) Halkett, her brothers-in-law, Hugh McDonnell, Ken Joinson, Roger Morin, Glen Halkett, Paul Ratt Sr. and Jerome Charles, and her sisters-in-law, Polly Halket and Christina Forest, as well as numerous other relatives. A wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge, SK. Elsie’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the All Saints Anglican Church in La Ronge, SK, Reverend Richard Custer and Reverend Elias Ballantyne officiating. Interment will follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in La Ronge, SK.
