It is with deep sadness that the family of Robert Edward McNeilly announce that he passed away suddenly on July 3, 2016. Robert was born to Robert and Francis (nee Isbister) McNeilly on Aprill 30, 1943. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who had a deep love and respect for him. Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his children: Peggy (Dwayne) Ahenakew ~ Sherry McNeilly ~ Jason (Robyn) McNeilly; his grandchildren: Faith, Hope, Cherish, Angel, Alyssa, Jordan (Tyson Kay), Joshua (Shayla), Blair, Sheridan, Tessa Rae; his chapans: Jayde, Juel, Brayden, Kylan, Ava “George”, Jace; his adopted children: Barbara Isbister (Gilbert), Helen Benjamin, Gerald Greyeyes (Debbie), Brad Kay, Larry Benjamin, Blanche Isbister (Tommy), Sandra Peekeekoot (Glen), Kathy Ahenakew (Leonard); his sisters: Lillian (Bud) Lee, Joyce (Bill) McPherson; his brothers: Wilbur (Rose) McNeilly and Harman McNeilly. He is also survied by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert is predeceased by: his wife, Marjorie Joyce McNeilly; his parents: Robert and Francis McNeilly; his parents-in-law: Simon and Annie Williams; his son, Robert J. McNeilly “Bobby”; his adopted son, Preston Williams; his brother, Lawrence McNeilly as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. There was a private family viewing held at beau “Lac: Funeral Home, Shellbrook. The funeral service for Robert Edward McNeilly was held on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 1:00PM at the Ahtahkakoop First Nation Band Hall with Marjorie Hyman officiating. Music was by Sandy Lake Choir. The eulogy was delivered by Raymond Williams. Interment followed in St. Mark’s Anglican Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were: Edwin Fusick, Wallace Williams, Glen Peekeekoot, Raymond Williams, Clifford S. Ahenakew, Harry Williams, Randy Peekeekoot, Leon Isbister and all of his close family and friends. Pallbearers were: Tommy Isbister, Larry Ahenakew, Blair McNeilly, Mike Ahenakew, Sheridan McNeilly, Joshua McNeilly, Colin Ahenakew, and Tyson Kay.
