Samuel Eugene Hastings was born on Sunday, March 1, 1964, in La Ronge, SK, and passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016, in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 52 years. Sam is survived by his loving family, his sons, Elwood Brown, Sammy Hastings and Elijah Caisse, his daughter, Melissa Tremblay, and her children, Nikita, Mason and Chloe, his mother, Mary Ann Hastings, his sisters, Sandra Hastings (Garry Viney), Judy Anderson, Shauna, Shavonne and Rebecca, his brothers, Hector (Nora) Ratt, Jerry Stonehawker, Richard Hastings, Martin McLeod, Jeff McKay, Ryan McKay and Carlson Hastings, his aunts and uncles, Emily Roberts, Jack Roberts, Beatrice Charles, James (Karen) Ratt, Tom (Terri) Roberts, Antoine (Eva) Roberts, Harry (Doris) Roberts, Richard Roberts, Alice Rediron and Amelia (Mike) Roberts and Mary Ann Halkett, his great-aunts, Elizabeth Charles and Emily Cummings, and his companion, Jolanda Brown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Norman Hastings, his sisters, Joy Ann McLeod and Verla Ettawacappo, his grandparents, Samson (Susan) Roberts and Myles (Victoria) Ratt, his uncles, Joe Ratt and Marius Rediron, his aunts, Nora Carle, Ida Sanderson and Adele Ratt, his great-aunt, Mary Ann McKay, his niece, Chrissie Charles, his great-niece, Adella Ratt, his nephew, Trent Roberts, his great-nephew, Marcus Ratt, and his cousins, Melissa Ratt, Veronica Charles and Mary Rose Charles. A wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge, SK. Samuel’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the All Saints Anglican Church in La Ronge, SK, Reverend Elias Ballantyne officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in La Ronge, SK.
