John was a WWII Veteran – Army and Navy Member and a Royal Canadian Legion Member. He had a heart of gold and a smile to match. He loved to be with his family most of all and enjoyed and loved them all. He was always there to help his family and expected nothing in return. He was a very special man. He was a lineman for Sask. Power for 37 years and retired in his early 50’s. He had a green thumb so then he took up gardening and took great pride in that. He also watched his MLB and NHL games on TV all the time plus our Sask. Roughriders. It was his addiction to sports and enjoyed it intensely. He loved all his grandchildren and enjoyed taking part in their lives and activities. He also enjoyed his travel to different Casino’s and especially his only trip ever to Las Vegas with 3 of his grandsons and he also loved to play cribbage. He believed very much in his faith (RC) and followed it very strongly. The family would like to thank the Victoria Hospital and Nelson Home where he lived, for all their loving care. He suffered a long battle with cancer and now rests with no pain, leaving to meet his family in heaven and watch over us within his loving way. Private Family Graveside Service will be held with a Memorial Luncheon to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Father Travis Myrheim officiating.
