Suzy Savisky passed away peacefully at Mont St. Joseph Nursing Home on Sunday September 18, 2016. She was born in Poland to John and Eugenia Osowsky on June 24, 1924. Suzy married John Savisky in 1941 during the war years. Subsequent postings were made to Dundurn, Saskatchewan, Maple Creek, Saskatchewan and Sussex, New Brunswick. Upon discharge from the Army, two quarters of bush land were obtained at Yellow Creek, and farming was commenced there. Through hard work, perseverance, and hardship, a successful farm was carved from the bush. Eventually John and Suzy moved to Prince Albert. Suzy worked at various clothing stores in Prince Albert as a seamstress and was always well known for her sewing expertise. Deteriorating health necessitated a move to Mont St. Joseph’s, where she resided until her passing. Suzy is survived by her son Wilf Savisky; daughter Geraldine Denesyk; grandchildren Kathy Denesyk (Dan Penford), Valerie (Murray) Middlebrook, Charlene (Tim) May; great granddaughters Raelee Middlebrook (Shane Dubyk), and Ciara Middlebrook (Mitch Wilson). Suzy was predeceased by her husband John Savisky, grandson Kevin Denesyk, daughter- in- law Violet Savisky, son- in- law Alex Denesyk, siblings Tony, Peter, John and Zennie, as well as her parents John and Eugenia Osowsky. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday September 22, 2016 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church 260-25th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Deacon Eldon Danielson officiating. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in Suzy’s memory may be directed to Mont St. Joseph Foundation 777-28th Street East, Prince Albert, SK. S6V 8C2.
