Mary Ann McKenzie was born on December 28, 1942, in Birch Portage, SK, and passed away on September 21, 2016, in La Ronge, SK, at the age of 73 years. Mary Ann is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Sylvia Charles, Kathleen (Isiah) McKenzie, Tina McKenzie, Frances (Trevor) McKenzie, and Nancy (Robert) McKenzie, her adopted daughter, Sandra (Larry) Sewap, her sons, Joseph McKenzie and James McKenzie Jr., her adopted son, Roy McKenzie, her brothers and sisters, Roy (Angelique) Custer, Allan Custer, and Mary (Paul) Ballantyne, and her aunt, Angelique Ray, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, James L. McKenzie, her mother, Eliza Custer, her father, George Custer, her children, Andrew McKenzie, John K. McKenzie, and Eliza J. McKenzie, her sister, Nora Sewap, her brother, Roderick B. Custer, her uncle, Andrew C. Custer, her mother-in-law, Mary Martha McKenzie, her father-in-law, John Custer, her sisters-in-law, Anna Sanderson, Dinah Dzeylion, Nancy Ballantyne, and Delia Sewap, her brother-in-law, Alan McKenzie, her nieces and nephews, John James Ballantyne, Leland Ballantyne, Justin Charles, Gabriel Ballantyne, Angus Sewap, Stella Sewap, Alois Sewap, Marsha McKenzie, Connie Sewap, and Nicole McKenzie, and her grandchildren, Norah McKenzie, Marsha’s Baby, Edward Custer, Lori G. Custer, and Isiah McKenzie Jr. A wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at River Park Memorial Chapel in Prince Albert, SK, then continued at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church in Pelican Narrows, SK. Mary Ann’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church in Pelican Narrows, SK, Reverend Richard Custer, Reverend Elias Ballantyne, and Reverend Angus Sewap officiating. Interment to follow at Pelican Narrows Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to River Park Memorial Chapel in Prince Albert, SK, 306-764-2727, Carla Jesso, Funeral Director.
