Shawn Charles Wilson passed away on October 9, 2016 in Norway in a base jumping accident. He was 39 years old. Shawn, the oldest child of Brent and Ann Wilson, was born on August 19, 1977 in Prince Albert, SK. He attended Red Wing Public School, Wesmor and Carlton High Schools. Shawn took machinist training at Kelsey Siast Campus and his Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. He moved to Trondheim, Norway in January of 2008. He worked at Sintef in research and development and achieved his Masters of Engineering in Metallurgy. He learned to skydive and base jump in Edmonton and continued to enjoy many base jumps in the Norwegian mountains. Shawn is survived by his girlfriend, Tanja Pettersen of Trondheim, Norway, his parents, Brent and Ann, his brothers, Scott, Kirk (Cindy Boisson), Dean (Alicia) Wilson and his nephew, Garret, and his grandmother, Phyllis Hayward, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, William Hayward and Charles & Alfreda Wilson. A Celebration of Shawn’s Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Nordale Community Hall. Interment of Cremated Remains will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens, Garden of Devotion, at a later date.
