It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dad, grandpa and great grandpa Nick Dutchuk on November 4, 2016 at the age of 97. Nick passed away peacefully with family by his side. Nick was born on August 19, 1919 in Canora, Saskatchewan. At the age of 21 he joined the army and was deployed to Scotland where he met Mary. They married in 1943. Upon return to Canada he formed HDP Construction with two friends, retiring in 1975. Nick lived a full and wonderful life. Over the years he enjoyed fishing, golfing, travelling and camping with Bliss and Mildred Moore. Most recently he loved spending time with his friends Mary Pikaluk, and Marleen and Garry Sutherland at their cabin. Nick will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Sandra Dutchuk, his son-in-law Yvon Desgagnes (Sunni Williams), his grandchildren; Jim Berezowsky (Laureen), Kim Anweiler (Mike), and Lisa Malenfant (Brad Young) and great grandchildren; Zachary, Jared and Chase Berezowsky and Madden and Sierra Anweiler, his sister Anne Cross and numerous other family members and friends. Nick was predeceased by his wife Mary, daughter Maureen, five brothers, and one sister. A big thank you to Amanda and staff at Homecare for the compassionate care they provided. The family would also like to extend an overwhelming thank you to Yvon and Sunni for always being there for Nick. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Lt. Laura Van Schaick officiating. Interment will be held at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
