Joseph Roland Ballantyne was born on Saturday, August 4, 1945, in The Pas, MB and passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, in Saskatoon, SK, at the age of 72 years. He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 50 years, Marie Rose Maggie Ballantyne (nee Michel), his children, Floyd (Carla), Jeffrey (Carla), Margaret Custer, Priscilla (David) Linklater and Janice (Henry) Sewap, his adopted children, Darla Marie Ballantyne and Lawrence (Toni) Ballantyne, his siblings, Hubert (Eva) Ballantune, Art, Armand, Lorna (Bob) McCallum, Helen (Adam) Ballantyne and Darlene (Tony) Sewap, his best friend, Henry Morin, his in-laws, Martin (Margaret) Michel, George (Darlene), Audrey Charles, Stella (Harry) McKay, John (Shirley) Michel, Doreen (David) Linklater and Henrietta (Gordon) Jobb, his auntie, Harriet Merasty, his uncle, George (Mary) Ballantyne, and his godchildren, Georgie Ballantyne and Burton Ballantyne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his father, Peter Ballantyne, his mother, Angelique Ballantyne (nee Morin), his children, Cameron, Roland, Gary and Madeline, his grandchildren, Camilia, Janita and Harrison, his in-laws, Solomon and Eugenie (nee Merasty) Michel, his aunties, uncles and cousins, his in-laws, Ovide Michel, Bill McKay, Joe (Christia) Michel, Christina, Jean Sewap and Fred Charles, and his nephews and nieces, Judy Caribou, Joseph Caribou, Brian, Melvin, Jean, Shiela, Kevin, Jonathan and Justin. A wake service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at River Park Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK, Mrs Margaret Ferchuk officiating. Joseph’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2016 at St Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Pelican Narrows, SK, Father Joseph officiating. Interment to follow at Moise Bear Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home in Prince Albert, SK, 306-764-2727, Colette Harnett, Funeral Director.
