With broken hearts the family of John Irvin Johnston, late of Mistawasis First Nation sadly announce his sudden passing on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the age of 71 years. Irvin was born on October 21, 1945 to Margaret and Frank Johnston.
The Wake Services for Irvin will commence on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. from the family home on Mistawasis First Nation, then moving on Friday, November 25, to the Mistawasis School Gymnasium. The Funeral Service for Irvin will take place on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mistawasis School Gymnasium with Rev. Katherine Bretzlaff officiating.
Irvin is survived by his loving wife, Linda Johnston; his children, Deanne (Jackie) Johnstone and children Megan and her children, Keanna, Kaydence and Katie; Blaine and his children, Jencen and Lynaya; Jackie Grace; Jamie Ledoux and children, Ethan & Selina; Damian and children, Madison, Jaida, Sadie, Damian Jr, and Emma; Marvin (Tammy) Johnston and children,Cherish and her son Kealan; Steven and his children, Stephen, Deandra, Angel and Steven Jr; Kyra and daughter, Kaylianna; Jayden; Wayne “Huggy” (Kari) Johnston and children, Travis Molenkamp, Aaron and Jade; Leanne (Daryl) Morrissette and children, Kelsey, Kimball, Lilly, Kylie, Henry and Hope. His siblings, Russell (Shirley) Johnston; Marlene Daniels; Arlene (Barry) Longjohn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Irvin is predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Frank Johnston; his brother Ivan Johnston; his brother-in-law, Henry Daniels; and his grandson, Bruce Ledoux. The active pallbearers will be Terry Bird, Thomas Johnstone, Rene Richard, Barry Stubbs, Harvey Lafond, Roger Isbister. Interment will be held at a later date in the Mistawasis Presbyterian Cemetery.
