In 1958 they were posted to Werl, West Germany, and returned to Canada in 1961 settling in PEI. Rob was drawn to a life long career in law enforcement and criminal justice. He began as a police officer in Borden, PEI, then moved to Truro NS, and later continued onto to earn a Bachelor of Human Justice spending the majority of his career with The Ministry of Justice, Corrections and Public Safety in La Ronge, SK. During his life he also spent time long distance trucking, in housing construction, and in computer sales and service. He was a man of many talents and interests which evolved over his lifetime. In his early years in PEI he played in a local music band, was President of the Borden Kinsmen Club, and was involved in the Borden United Church. He loved to sing and play guitar, and build model trains. During his years in La Ronge, SK he held different service positions within his community. He was a volunteer fireman, town Alderman, board member/President for Cable Ronge, and President of the Senior’s Club. In those years, he added woodworking to his hobbies. He spent hours creating bird feeders and windmills. He also took pleasure in camping, boating and long hours sitting by the fire with a good stiff drink. He was capable of so much when he set his mind to it. He was a quiet man, a deep thinker, and an excellent judge of character. On December 15th, 2016, in La Ronge, SK, his journey with us ended. He is deeply missed by his family, and friends, those who knew him and understood him, and loved him. A private service was held followed by cremation in Prince Albert Dec 17, 2016.
