Catherine Rowe

August 24, 1918 – passed away December 29, 2016 at the Extendicare (Preston) Home in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 98.
Catherine, known affectionately as Paddy, was born on August 24, 1918 and was the fourth of five surviving children of Walter and Diana Trenholme of Shellbrook, SK. She grew up and remained in Shellbrook until she entered nursing training at the Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert, SK, graduating in 1946 as a registered nurse. It was in Shellbrook that she met William (“Bill”) Rowe and they were married on July 16, 1946. Catherine and Bill had four daughters over the next fifteen years and they lived in Shellbrook, Prince Albert, Nipawin, and Regina until they returned to Prince Albert in 1969. At that time Bill entered the Anglican priesthood. Catherine remained focused on her family and became active in the Cathedral of St. Alban the Martyr. Bill and Catherine remained in Prince Albert until they relocated to Saskatoon in 2000.
Catherine was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2001, and by her siblings Laurence, Mary, Beatrice and Dorothea. She is survived by her daughters Margaret Sanford of Bradenton, FL, Diana (Gordon) Dixon, of Prince Albert, SK, Daphne Rowe of Prince Albert, SK and Cathie (Kevin) Rogers of Saskatoon, SK. Catherine is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral in celebration of Catherine’s life will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Alban’s Cathedral in Prince Albert. Arrangements are in the care of Gray’s Funeral Home, Prince Albert.
