It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bernard Anthony Cain at his residence south of Canwood at the age of 79 years on January 18^th, 2017.

Bernard was born on February 25^th, 1937 in Selborne, England to Ivy and Henry Cain.  Tony went to school in England attending several schools in the Alton area and completing Agricultural Engineer through City and Guilds.  He worked as an Agricultural Engineer in England and then later in forestry as well as a Truck Driver. He fell in love and was married to Anne Barney on March 11, 1967 in England.  In October of 1974, Tony and his family moved to Canada to start a new life, and for a short time staying in Holbein, SK. Then moved to the Cameo District, and except for a brief stay in Big River has called it home. Arriving in Canada Tony briefly continued his work in forestry and then made his career in grain elevators.  First as a helper in Holbein and Shellbrook.  After a while becoming an agent in Mont Nebo and finally in Big River. Before retiring, he worked as a farm laborer and also a School Bus Driver.

At this time he also opened his house and his heart to many foster children.

While in his younger years in England, he enjoyed ferreting for rabbits and also Ocean fishing.  His love of fishing continued when he moved to Canada, as well as his love of horses, especially heavy work horses. In his retirement years he enjoyed doing woodworking, as well as puttering around in the garden and seeing what new birds would visit his feeder.

Bernard will be deeply missed by: his loving wife, Anne Cain, his son,  Darren (Lynn) Cain of Canwood, SK and their children, Lynette Cain of Saskatoon, SK, Waylon Cain of Regina, SK and Briar Cain of Canwood, SK; his daughter, Louise Cain of Vernon, BC;  his sisters, Francis (George) Knott and Maude Skuse, his brother, Chris, and sister-in-law,  Helen Cain.

He is predeceased by; his parents, Henry and Ivy Cain, his sister, Ann Price, his brothers, Peter and Robert, a brother-in-law, Victor Skuse and his parents-in-law, Joe and Louise Barney.

The family will be holding a private interment at a later date.
