It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of a loving wife and Mother Carol Martha Bourne. Carol was born April 14, 1951 in Big River, SK to Joseph and Tena Meyers. Carol passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 65. We lost a great person; She will always be remembered. She was more than a co-worker, she was a friend. She always had one of those smiles that would light up the room. Didn’t matter how busy her day was or how she was feeling. When you’d see her smile, she always wore it proud. She always had that way of turning an upside-down day right-side up, just by being in it. Carol was easy to interact with and always welcomed a good conversation. She was able to do such a great job connecting with her clients and being such a good friend because she was able to talk from experience and share her life stories. Carol’s passion was for helping people and in so, worked for N.C.C. for over 20 years as a family support worker. She had a heart of gold and was loved by so many. She shared all her fond memories of growing up on the farm. Carol was never afraid to be herself and never afraid to speak the truth. She loved music and would wiggle her shoulder to it, and she always had time for a cup of coffee, all you had to do was mention it. Carol became part of a family; the NCC Family and she will always be a part of that family. Carol’s world revolved around her family and was always proud of them. She often shared stories of Kurtis, it was obvious how much she missed him and she always spoke highly of Jeff and how proud she was of him and his accomplishments. She was looking forward to her retirement with Rod. She was an inspiration to many, and even through her struggles she remained positive. She was a strong woman who loved doing what she did to help people. She will be missed so much. But the memories we’ve shared with her will stay strong in our hearts and that will give peace, knowing she’s no longer in pain. Carol was brave, humble and compassionate and she will never be forgotten. Carol had a heart of gold and was loved by so many. Carol’s passion was for helping people and in so, worked at N.C.C. for over 20 years as a family support worker. Her world revolved around her family: her husband Rodney and son Jeff.
