Agnes Crawford passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Birchview Home in Birch Hills, Sask. She was born Sept 8, 1925 in the family home on the SE 1/4 Sec 28, Tp 46, Rg 23W2, near Brancepeth, Sask, the seventh child of Ernest and Dorothy Stobbs. She grew up on the farm and attended school in Brancepeth and Prince Albert. After finishing high school, she achieved a teacher’s certificate and taught for a time at Queen Maud and Wheatley schools. In the late 40’s she travelled to the British Columbia and it was while working there that she met William Crawford, her husband to be. They were married Nov 10, 1949, spending the next 65 years together. She had a very active life raising her children, working full time, sharing time with friends and family, being involved in the community and her church. She worked many jobs during her career, but she is best known for her work as a municipal administrator, in Kinistino and Birch Hills, retiring in 1991. Agnes was an avid golfer, after she took up the game in her 50’s. She was active in the local golf club, participating in many activities, tournaments and board meetings. Agnes’ faith defined her life, as she had a strong belief in God and our Savior Jesus Christ. She tried her best to live by her faith, and her interactions with others are a testament to that. She was active at St. Mary’s and Holy Trinity for many years, serving as treasurer and on the board. The church is not the building, but the people within, and she was one of the best. She is survived by her children: Russell (Marina) and their children: Jessica (John) and Andrea; William “Bill” (Ivy) and their children: Michael (Jodi) and Michelle (David); Lynn (Bruce) Osland and her children: Kelli, Camille (Bryan), Meagan, and Dani (Kris); James (Janice) and their children: Elly (Lyle), William “Billy”, John Mark, and Teighana; Sherry (Michael) Bassett and their children: Clinton (Stacey), Melissa (Jared), and Trevor (Roxanne); and Jan (Stan)Bliss and their children: (Ben), Amanda (Melvin), and Brendon (Jenna); her 35 great-grandchildren; her sister: Margaret Tapley; her sisters-in-law: Coraline Gosselin and June Stobbs; her brother-in-law: Roddie Crawford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
