Jonas Gerry Halkett was born on Saturday, August 28, 1965 in La Ronge, SK, and passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Saskatoon, SK at the age of 51 years. Jonas is survived by his loving family, his children Dana Johnson, Jonas Halkett, Jason Halkett (Crystal Ratt), Bianca Halkett (Thomas McKenzie), Jonas Halkett Jr. (Jolene McKenzie) and Ryan Halkett, the mothers of his children Tina Johnson (Dana, Jonas, Jason) and Ruby Ross (Bianca, Jonas, Ryan), his father James Halkett, his brothers and sisters Stan Halkett (Christina Lariviere), Doris Halkett (Rene Bird), Colin Halkett, Glen Halkett, Williard Halkett (Flora Ross), Jeffrey Halkett (Ann Maggrah) and Sheldon Halkett, his special sisters Irene Ratt and Betty Sanderson, his grandchildren Moesha, Casper, Tamica, Zandra, Syesha, Adrianna, Grayson, Jeslie, Tyson and Lakeisha, his special child Edward Mirasty, and his aunts and uncles Thompson Halkett, Stanley Halkett, Skeezix Forest, Mary Joinson, Doris Morin (Brian Clavier), Mary Ann Halkett, Hilda (Colin) Venne, Eliza Ratt, Rose (John) Charles, Daniel (Irene) Halkett, George (Mary jane) Halkett, Harriet Simpson, Martha J. Ross and William Charlie Ross, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Della Starr Johnson, his mother Elsie Halkett, his brothers Colin, Tommy and Van, his sister Charlotte, his grandparents Archdeacon Charles & Flora (nee Venne) Halkett and Moses & Maria Halkett, and his aunts and uncles Hugh McDonnell, Ken Joinson, Roger Morin, Glen Halkett, Paul Ratt Sr., Jerome Charles, Polly Halkett and Christina Forest. A wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Kitsaki Hall in La Ronge, SK. Jonas’ funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at All Saints Anglican Church in La Ronge, SK, Bishop Adam Halkett officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in La Ronge, SK.
