Leland Albert “Lee” Watt, age 83, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in La Ronge, Saskatchewan with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the La Ronge Alliance Church. Interment will take place in Prince Albert, SK at a later date. Lee was born in Rio Grande, Alberta to his parents Albert and Mildred Watt on Wednesday, June 14, 1933. He grew up in Hamilton, Ontario with his siblings Hugh, Marilyn, Elaine, Lee Ann and Richard. Lee started his career as a mechanic with the Canadian Armed Forces, leading him to Cold Lake, Alberta where he met and fell in love with Lulu Belle Sharp. Lee and Lou married on Friday, August 10, 1956. They welcomed five children, Brenda (Miles), Robert (Teresa), Marilyn, Hugh (Dorla) and Graham (Jacy). Lee was a visionary. He sought unique opportunities that took him and his family to the arctic, creating memories that remained vivid and shared often. Lee’s entrepreneurial spirit eventually led to the opening of Lee’s Motor Products in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. The construction business was the first in La Ronge’s industrial park and brought essential resources and infrastructure to the communities of the far north. His strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand are values that are instilled in his children and have been passed on to their children. Lee loved his fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He had a sense of humour that would bring a smile to any person who crossed his path. Lee always had a best friend by his side, most recently Lucky. Lee will be forever loved and missed by his family and many friends.
