As of August 2016, much gratitude for the loving care he received from Angie Kopera and staff of River Breeze Care Home in Prince Albert. In addition, we are appreciative for the very recent care and compassion Al did receive from the Victoria Hospital staff. Al was born May 1, 1937. He and his four sisters were raised on the family farm near Canora Sk. In 1958 he moved to Weyburn, Sk to attend the Psych. Nursing Program. Following his graduation, he married Eileen (nee Miller) July 1, 1961. It was at that time, they returned to the family farm. They were then blessed with their three children. In 1968 Al’s passion to work with people drew him to Yorkton Sk. to pursue his nursing career. In 1969 Al and his family moved to Prince Albert where he worked as a Medical Social Worker. In 1979 Al, Eileen and their children built a cabin at Weyakwin Lake Sk, where many seasonal activities were enjoyed and shared between family and friends. The later portion of his career was with the Provincial Gov’t working as a Standards Consultant with Continuing Care, until his retirement in 1996. Following his retirement Al & Eileen enjoyed travelling to numerous vacation destinations. 1992 found him blessed with the first of his three grandsons. His most memorable times at the cabin were when his grandsons could join in on annual vacations. Al was always sociable, loved working with people, a handyman with passions that included fishing, boating and riding his quad. But, his three grandsons were his greatest pride and joy! Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, (260 – 25th Street East, Prince Albert, Sk) with Rev. Father D.J. Vu officiating.
