Benjamin Raymond McKenzie was born on Sunday, September 4, 1966 in La Ronge, SK and passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in Wollaston Lake, SK at the age of 50 years. Ben is survived by his loving family: his companion, Irene Charles; his mother, Flora McKenzie; his children, Geralyn Cook, Kendra (Tyrone) Charles, William (Lyssa) Charles and Brandon Brittan; his grandchildren, Aubrey, Hayden and Zianne; his god-children, Tyler “Son” McKenzie, Logan Cook, Ayden McKenzie, Nathan McKenzie and Justin McKenzie; his siblings, Bernice (Hector) Roberts, James (Rita) McKenzie, Ahab (Lowine) McKenzie, Daniel “Bones” (Mary) McKenzie, David (Patty) McKenzie, Rusty McKenzie, Annie Betsy (James) Crawford, Jonas (Carrie) McKenzie and Ambrose (Christina) McKenzie; his mother-in-law, Georgina Charles; and his sister- and brothers-in-law, Jenny, Riley and Maurice; as well as numerous chapans, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Zacharias “Zack” McKenzie; his sister, Emily “Ida” McKenzie; his grandson, Patience Cook; his paternal grandparents, Daniel (Betsy) McKenzie; his maternal grandparents, William (Annie) Charles; his sister-in-law, Rosie Charles; his uncles and aunts, John (Betsy) McKenzie, Benjamin (Maryanne) McKenzie and Thomas (Rosie McKenzie) Charles; and his cousins, James (Big Jim) McKenzie, Benjamin (Chakapeas) McKenzie, Doreen Clarke and Howard Charles. A wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission, SK. Ben’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Stanley Mission, SK, Reverend Richard Custer and Reverend Elias Ballantyne officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery in Stanley Mission, SK.
