BISSON, DONAT (DON) ROBERT
January 12, 1946 – October 17, 2017
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Don, age 71, at the Victoria Hospital surrounded by his family after a short illness with Cancer. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Mary Ann; his children, daughter Linda Leedahl (Tom), granddaughter Alicia (Bert) and great grandson Bensen White; Kaylla Leedahl. estranged daughter Bonnie; son Steven; son-in-law Alex Veltkamp (Deb); granddaughter Natascha (James) and great grandson Wyatt Chapman; grandson Brian Veltkamp (Sean) and sister-in-law, Su. Don was predeceased by his father, Lucien and his mother Mildred; as well as many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and most recently his beloved daughter-in-law, Jennifer Milne Bisson. Don met the love of his life Mary Ann (Coulombe) and was married in 1966. Both Don and Mary Ann were born in Ottawa and moved to Saskatoon in 1978 later settling in Prince Albert. Don spent his life working in the automotive industry, starting as a licensed mechanic, advancing to Service Manager and later switched to Body Shop Manager before retiring. Don loved to hunt, fish, golf, play pool and loved going to see the Classic Car Shows. He was an animal lover. He really enjoyed listening to country music and most of all spending time with his family. He was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to talk about them and show pictures to everyone. Don also enjoyed his Church family and Don’s family would like to thank Dr. N. Kriel and the 5th Floor Nursing Staff whom provided excellent care. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 – 6th Avenue West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Colin Turner officiating. It was Don’s request to be cremated and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of tributes, charitable donations can be made to the charity of The Canadian Cancer Society more specific to prostate and ovarian cancer. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306-922-4729).
