He was the second youngest of 8 children; Romeo, Rita, Henry, Violet, Ida, Lucien, Rose, and MaryRose. Lucien passed on January 6, 2018, in Leask, SK, at the age of 87. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 61 years: Jeanette (Koolick) Lamontagne; his children: Gerry (Donalee) Lamontagne of Saskatoon, SK Debbie (Kevin) Whelan of Moose Jaw, SK, and Glenn Lamontagne of Blaine Lake, SK; his daughter-in-law: Carla Lamontagne of Blaine Lake, SK; along with his grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sister-in-law: Claire Lamontagne. Lucien was predeceased by: his son: Ricky Lamontagne; his parents: Hector and Eva Lamontagne; and his siblings: Romeo, Henry, Rita (Arthur), Violet (Emile), Ida (Mike), MaryRose (Zig), and Rose. Lucien attended school at Windsor Lake school district. He went to work at an early age for Henry Casavant. He then tried his hand in the car dealership in Prince Albert, and this was not his cup of tea. He moved back home and started to farm with his dad and brother Henry. Lucien married Jeanette Koolick in October of 1956 and resided at the home quarter, where she and Glen still live. Along with farming, he worked for the RM of Blaine Lake, and started a construction company. Lucien loved to fish, hunt, and was involved in hockey for many years; as a coach and a parent. His favorite team was the Montreal Canadiens. In the household this caused many discussions. He was a successful farmer and took pride in his family. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 27, 2018 – 11:00AM, at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Blaine Lake, SK. In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made in Lucien’s honor to the STARS Foundation: STARS Head Office 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570 Calgary AB T2E 8M7.
