What’s happening in P.A. sports this week

Oct 9, 2019 | 2:00 PM

Here’s what’s going on in Prince Albert sports this week.

Thursday

If you’re only going to go to one high school football game this year, this is the one.

The Canadian Tire Classic has been played every year between the crosstown rivals, the Carlton Crusaders and the St. Mary Marauders, each year since it was founded in 2012. The Marauders won the first six of them before the Crusaders won last year’s title 26-14.

This year, the Crusaders will look to defend that title at Max Clunie Field at 6:30 p.m.

Friday

NHL first-rounder Dylan Cozens and the Lethbridge Hurricanes (3-2-0-1) are coming to take on the Prince Albert Raiders (5-0-2) at 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre.

Saturday

The SHSAA Cross Country Provincials are running at Prime Ministers’ Park, starting at noon.

The Prince Albert Mintos will play their first of two weekend games against the Regina Pat Canadians, 1:30 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Raiders will face the Moose Jaw Warriors at 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre before embarking on their U.S. Division road trip starting on Oct. 19 against the Everett Silvertips. They won’t be back home again until Nov. 1.

The Prince Albert Titans will take on the Delisle Chiefs in PJHL action, 7:30 p.m. at the Kinsmen Arena.

Sunday

The Mintos will take on the Tisdale Trojans to wrap up their weekend in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Titans will play the Regina Capitals at 2:30 p.m. at the Kinsmen Arena.
