Fall doesn’t end outdoor fun

The leaves have changed colors and the fall season is now underway.

With the change in season a couple of travel bloggers want to remind people that it is still a nice time to visit Prince Albert National Park.

Jay Brown of saskhiker.com, recently visited the park to hike and paddleboard. He said the fall can be a good time for people looking to do certain activities.

“The weather is better for actually doing hiking and physical activity, because it’s not as hot as it is in August and July,” he said.

Along with the conditions being more inviting for physical activities, Brown said there are also other factors that make for a good experience.

“It’s so dramatic up there because of how much the leaves change and how much the forests change and even the smell of the forest is completely different,” he said.

Brown said P.A. National Park is one of the best places to visit in the fall as the forest is healthy and is less touched by humans.

Besides Brown, Kenton De Jong, who blogs at kentondejong.com along with a travel companion recently visited the park and made a canoe trip up to Grey Owl’s cabin. De Jong said he has not been up to the park in 15 years and had never been there in the fall.

He explained along with the nice scenery and other vegetation he noticed quite a bit of wildlife.

“So many different animals, we probably saw four or five different elk, just wandering around when we were driving and hiking around. We saw so much wildlife,” he said.

De Jong said the park was fantastic when compared with others he has visited, specifically because he found it naturally beautiful, well-equipped and accessible.

“The trip itself was an exhausting process, but the experience was fantastic,” he said.
