Prince Albert residents to gather, reflect for National Suicide Awareness Day
Prince Albert residents are coming together this evening to show support for loved ones lost and those struggling with suicide.
Starting at 7:30 p.m. tonight, St. Alban’s Cathedral will host a special multi-faith candlelight vigil to reflect on National Suicide Awareness Day.
“There will be an opportunity to light candles for either someone that you know who has committed suicide or for someone who you know might be contemplating or tempted by it,” Deacon David Butorac told paNOW. “The vigil is to tell people, ‘You’re not alone.’ Whether you are grieving the loss of someone or whether you are struggling with it yourself. One way to show you’re not alone is to come together with a bunch of other people.”
The event will feature special guest speaker Sheryl Kimbley and a musical performance by Prince Albert’s LJ Tyson.
