PAGC offering free back-to-school haircuts

Aug 27, 2019 | 5:26 PM

Some local hairdressers are teaming up with Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC) to make sure kids look fresh on their return to the classroom this fall.

“We want to encourage the kids to have a successful year and to make sure to kick it off on a good start,” PAGC Director of Urban Services, Geoff Despins said.

Four hairdressers have volunteered their time to give free haircuts to kids Wednesday at Parkland Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m, as part of a back to school barbecue.

Despins says they’ve organized the event to build kids’ self esteem.

It’s “just a boost for them, and for us as a grand council organization to give back to the kids in the West Flat of Prince Albert,” he said.

The event will also include free hotdogs and a car seat clinic.
