Sharks Swim Club Ends Season with Fabulous Results

Swimmers from the Prince Albert Sharks masters program posted strong showings at the Frank Dunn Triathlon held Sunday, Aug. 11.

Anne Charles and Janet Berezowski represented the club in the event, with Charles placing first overall for female competitors. She finished in a time of 3:05 – which included her placing second overall in the 1500-metre swim and 10th overall among both males and females.

Berezowski earned a personal best time in the swimming portion of the triathlon.

The triathlon had 118 participants and included a 1,500-metre swim, 62-kilometre bike race and 13-kilometre run.

“Way to go Masters,” said Sharks head coach Hazem Hussein. “Keep up the great swimming!”

In other Shark news, Sophie Bilodeau is celebrating a successful run at the Western Canadian Games swimming events in Swift Current. As a member of Team Saskatchewan, Bilodeau placed in the top-ten for all her breaststroke events and achieved a personal best in backstroke.

Bilodeau also represented Saskatchewan in three team relays:

female 4 x 200-metre freestyle, mixed 4 x 100-metre medley and female 4 X 100-metre medley.

“She had a wonderful experience,” Hussein said. “Way to go Sophie!

The Prince Albert Sharks will host registration nights on Sept 4-5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Frank Dunn Pool. Swimmers of all ages and abilities are welcome.
