Prince Albert Mayor Bill Powalinsky wants every head counted in the city.
Official Census follow-up activities have been underway since May 12, with Statistics Canada employees contacting residents by phone and email, while field staff continue conducting in-person visits to households that have not yet responded. paNOW was told the agents may be wrapping up at the end of this week.
“This is probably the most important [time] for the city every four years,” Powalinsky said.
Standing outside the Service Canada office at Prince Albert’s South Hill mall, Powalinsky said everyone wants good infrastructure, good services, good policing and low taxes. The municipal government collects revenue through taxes, service fees and government grants.
