Venice House saying goodbye to two longtime servers
The Venice House restaurant in downtown Prince Albert has been a mainstay on Central Avenue since 1976. If you’ve dined there in the last 45 years, you’ve likely been served by one of two women.
After 48 years working as a server, Zena Smail officially retired at the end of May, and she’s soon to be joined in retirement by Theresa Skibicki who will be retiring after 45 years at the end of the month.
Tony Yannacoulias is the owner of Venice House on Central after taking over the business from his parents, and he said that he’s been spending time with the two of them since before he was even born.
“They’ve been here longer than I’ve been alive, both of them. The restaurant’s been in the family since ’76, so they were working here before I was born. So they saw me grow up as a kid and everything, and then I came back here in 2007 and I’ve been working with them since.”
