Just over two years after nearly two kilos of illegal dugs were found inside a home and two storage lockers in the Prince Albert area, one of the men charged in the investigation has taken responsibility for his crimes.

Kevin Georges, 38, from Burnaby, B.C., appeared Monday morning at Court of King’s Bench in Prince Albert.

The case had been scheduled for non-jury trial but guilty pleas were entered to possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and hydromorphone pills; possession of two handguns with readily accessible ammunition; and possession of a firearm while prohibited.

To allow time for a pre-sentence report, that will among other things examine impact of race, a sentencing hearing has been tentatively scheduled for June 22.

On March 29, 2024, police executed searches at a home in the 2000 Block of 15th Ave. E. and at two storage lockers in the Rural Municipality of Buckland.

The total drugs found included 1100 grams of meth, 850 grams of cocaine and 1,400 dilaudid (hydromorphone) pills. There was also three nine millimetre handguns, ammunition and close to $21,000 in cash.

Georges was arrested at the storage facility had four grams of cocaine in pocket. He was also connected to an additional 230 grams of cocaine and $13,000 cash.

His lawyer mentioned Georges was paying rent for the second storage locker, and while he was aware there was likely drugs and weapons inside, did not know the specifics. The owner was away in jail.

Also charged was Saravudh Tim who according to lawyers is deceased and so all his charges were stayed by the Crown prosecutor.
