Police investigating shots fired at home on 8th St. E., arrest man for arson in separate incident

Mar 24, 2026 | 12:18 PM

Gunshots were fired at a home on the 1000 Block of Eighth Street East Saturday, but Prince Albert Police are confirming there were no injuries.

They received the report around 11:45 p.m. on March 21 and were able to see evidence of the gunshots being fired at the residence. Now they’re asking the public to contact them if they heard or witnessed anything suspicious in the area.

Earlier that day, in a separate incident, police responded to a report of a fire at a business in the 3600 Block of Second Avenue West. The Prince Albert Fire Department was already on scene working to contain the blaze. All staff and customers had exited the building safely. After the fire was contained, the origin of it was deemed suspicious and believed to be arson. Police officers conducted patrols in the area and located the suspect on 34th Street West. The 45-year-old man was charged with arson causing damage to property and is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Thursday.

Anyone with information on either incident can contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953 4222, through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or by submitting a tip online.
