Concaves get attention at a farm show in Regina

Bushel Plus X9 Split Frame MAD Concaves took home some hardware from Canada’s Farm Show in Regina, Sask. last week. 

Bushel Pulse Ltd, a manufacturer of harvest solutions, won the New Technology Innovation Award. 

The award is presented by the show’s Innovator Recognition Program, highlighting technologies that advance agriculture by improving efficiency, productivity, and sustainability while delivering measurable value to farmers. 

Marcel Kringe, Founder and CEO of Bushel Plus said the concave system is for John Deere X9 Series Combines that reduces concave changeover time while improving grain quality and overall combine performance.  

“Winning this award underscores the value of listening to farmers and turning real-world challenges into practical solutions,” Kringe said. “Working closely with our customers enables us to develop products that perform at the highest level, helping them capture more bushels and boost profitability.”

For farmers running multiple crops through the same machine, switching between wheat, barley, corn, or soybeans has traditionally required hours of downtime, physical strain, and the risk of re-leveling errors. 

Kringe said the concaves eliminate that bottleneck. A structural split frame remains installed in the combine, while lightweight, crop-specific inserts can be quickly swapped in and out. Changeovers take one person approximately 15 minutes.  

Field-tested across North America, the system delivers lower grain loss, cleaner samples, improved efficiency, allowing farmers to harvest faster, protect grain quality, and maximize profitability.  

According to Kringe, developing a new product is a true reflection of teamwork, problem-solving, and ingenuity.

The award comes as Bushel Plus prepares to rebrand globally as BranValt later this summer. It is expanding its global presence in over 45 countries.
