Woman stabbed in Prince Albert’s East Flat

A charge of aggravated assault has been laid following a violent incident on Wednesday in Prince Albert’s East Flat neighbourhood.

At approximately 5:25 p.m., police were flagged down by members of the public in the 700 block of fourth St. E. and directed to an injured woman.

A 24-year-old woman was located with injuries consistent with a stabbing. She was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital, where she is currently in stable condition.

Officers then identified a residence in the 800 block of Fourth St. E. as the location where the assault is believed to have occurred. Several individuals were taken into custody, and the scene was examined by the Forensic Identification Section.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated assault. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance on March 20. No names can be released until the charge has been sworn.
