U18 AA Foxes advance to North Final

Mar 16, 2026 | 12:07 PM

For the third straight year, the Prince Albert U18 AA Family Pizza Foxes have advanced to the North Final of the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League.

They’ll face the Northwest Sharks and game one has been scheduled for Wednesday night in North Battleford at the Access Communications Centre.

The Foxes finished the regular season with a record of 12-11-1-1.

After knocking off the Western Prairie Thunder in the first round of playoffs, the Foxes went on to play the team they lost out to last year in the North Final – the Warman Wildcats who had finished first in the division.

After falling to the Wildcats in Game 1, the Foxes rallied and won the next two games by scores of 3-1 and 4-2.

The Foxes were led by second‑year defender Jaryn Fidler, who recorded three points with two goals and an assist. Goaltender Brianna Brataschuk delivered another strong performance, allowing just one goal in each of the last two games and facing an average of 25 shots per night.

Captain Reign Blanchard, now in her third and final season with the Foxes, told paNOW the team feels confident as they return to the North Final and she is proud of all her teammates.

Along with Blanchard entering her final season, this year also marks the last for Assistant Captains Jordyn Schrader and Marti Burechailo, as well as Nevaeh Bird-Clark and Lacy Joanis.

Manager Darren Fidler described this as a truly special group of young ladies.

After being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment, he said the team helped him through the toughest moments. In support, the players have added a helmet sticker to acknowledge his battle – a tribute now worn by all Prince Albert Foxes with the ddfids emblem.
