Five local rookies among Prince Albert Timberjaks year-end award recipients
The Prince Albert Timberjaks recognized some top achievements at their year-end banquet Saturday.
The Timberjaks joined the Prairie Junior Hockey League in 2023 after the previous local Junior B team folded. Team president and governor Ken Malenfant said this season produced the strongest group of players yet in terms of on-ice skills.
“We unfortunately lost out in the first round of the playoffs, but we had a great showing. We lost a couple of close games 2-1, so we had a really good showing and the group of young guys we had this year, you know we’re still building in our third year here, but it’s the best group we’ve had in the three years,” said Malenfant.
