A 24-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a stolen car was used in an attempt to assault Prince Albert police in a liquor store drive-thru Sunday.

Officers were called to the business in the unit block of River Street West around 10:30 p.m. after getting a complaint about a suspicious vehicle.

The vehicle in question had been reported stolen. When officers arrived, they saw the vehicle in the drive-thru and approached on foot.

Despite police commands to stop, the driver rammed the vehicle in front of it and swerved towards an officer before driving off at high speeds.

It continued on Highway 302 West where it was eventually disabled and three occupants were arrested.

The 24-year-old driver, Cody Ballantyne, was charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, assaulting a police officer, evading police, dangerous driving and breaching a release order.

Acotia Bradfield, 22, was charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
