17-year-old boy charged with murdering Prince Albert teenage girl
Nearly three months after the death of 16-year-old Rhianna Cook in Prince Albert, a 17-year-old boy has been charged with second degree murder.
The male youth who was arrested in Saskatoon on Saturday during a traffic stop and who appeared Monday morning in that city’s provincial court, was remanded. He is now being transferred back to Prince Albert and is next set to appear in court on Wednesday.
The shooting happened in the morning hours of Nov. 27. Police were called to a home in the 900 block of 12th Street West.
Upon arrival, officers learned that someone had been shot. Officers cleared the residence and found Cook with life-threatening injuries. Parkland Ambulance began to assess her at the scene however, she succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards.
