Zablocki earns top college honours as freshman season continues in Massachusetts

Feb 26, 2026 | 6:00 AM

Prince Albert’s Stryker Zablocki is continuing to make waves, this time at the college level in the United States.

The 19-year-old is currently in her freshman year at Northeastern University in Boston and just finished her first regular season with the Huskies. Earlier this week, she was honoured by the Hockey East Association, the conference the Huskies compete in, as the Hockey East Scoring Champion and was also named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team.

Within the Hockey East conference, she led all skaters with 34 points (17G-17A) in just 24 games, finishing one point ahead of fellow freshman from Boston College, Ava Thomas. Zablocki is the first freshman to win the award since Daryl Watts did it for Boston College in 2018, and the first player from Northeastern to win since Alina Mueller in 2023.

Overall, outside of conference play, the Carlton graduate ended the regular season with 42 points (18G-24A) in 34 games, placing her 11th in scoring across the entirety of NCAA Div. I women’s hockey. Her best game of the season came on Jan. 9 when she potted a career-high four points (3G-1A) in a 5-2 win over Providence College.

The honours are the latest for Zablocki, who continues to add to her already very impressive trophy case.

Last season, she played in Rochester, New York and helped lead the Bishop Kearney Selects 19U girls team to their best season ever at 56-3-0 (W-L-T) as they captured the programs first National Championship. In 2023 and 2024, she led the Regina Rebels to back-to-back provincial championships and consecutive Esso Cup (National) tournament berths, where the Rebels won bronze in 2023 and gold in 2024. Additionally, at the 2024 championship, she was honoured as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and as the Top Forward.

Internationally, Zablocki has represented Canada twice at the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship, winning bronze in 2024 and gold in 2025. She was also named to the All-Star Media Team in 2025.

Now at Northeastern, Zablocki and the top-ranked Huskies are gearing up for the playoffs after winning the Hockey East women’s regular season with a 21-2-1 (W-L-T) record, marking the sixth time in program history they won the conference. The Huskies have advanced to the title game in each of the last nine seasons, including from 2017-21 when they were led by fellow Prince Albert product Brooke Hobson.

Prince Albert's Brooke Hobson captained the Northeastern Huskies for two seasons in 2020–21 and 2021–22, and also served as an alternate captain in 2019-20. She now plays for the Ottawa Charge in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL).

Nationally, Northeastern ranks fifth across NCAA Div. I, with an overall record of 26-7-1.

The Huskies have a bye in the first round of the conference playoffs that begin Wednesday, and they are waiting to find out who their opponent will be out of the bottom four teams. That play in round sees #9 Providence take on #8 Boston University, and #10 Merrimack battle #7 Maine, and the Huskies will play the lowest ranked team remaining.

Northeastern’s second round game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 with a time and place yet to be determined.
