Man charged with aggravated assault that occurred in Cornerstone area

Prince Albert police officers searching a man wanted in connection to a stabbing found a box cutter knife in his possession following the assault.
The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon around 4:20 p.m. in the Cornerstone area. Police were dispatched to a business in the 800 block of 15th Street East for a report of a man who had been stabbed. The victim, who had suffered serious injuries, was transported to the Victoria Hospital by Parkland Ambulance for medical care.
Officers obtained a description of the suspect and began patrolling the area. Shortly after, they located a man matching the description. It was during his arrest that officers located the box cutter knife. He has since been charged with aggravated assault and was scheduled to make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Thursday.
