Canada Post halts delivery in Battlefords, Lloydminster amid severe winter storm
Mail delivery has been suspended in the Battlefords and Lloydminster as severe winter weather continues to impact parts of Saskatchewan.
Canada Post issued red delivery service alerts for both communities on Tuesday, halting mail delivery for the day due to unsafe conditions. A yellow alert has also been issued for the rest of the province, warning of possible delays.
“The safety of our employees is our number one priority,” the federal Crown corporation said.
A red service alert means delivery agents will not be sent out and any active deliveries may be recalled. A yellow alert indicates Canada Post will attempt to deliver mail where possible, though delays and interruptions are likely, including with mail collection.
