Prince Albert Sharks Make a Splash at Saskatoon Swim Meet

The Prince Albert Sharks Club AA time qualifiers kicked off the new year with an impressive showing at a swim meet in Saskatoon, held from February 6th to 8th. The event marked the team’s first competition following the Christmas break, and swimmers delivered fantastic results across the board, showcasing their hard work and dedication.

The meet was highlighted by several standout individual and relay performances from the Sharks contingent.

Clara G. was a dominant force in the backstroke events, securing first-place finishes in the 50m, 100m, and 200m distances. She also clinched victory in the demanding 400m Individual Medley (IM) and earned a second-place finish in the 200m IM. Clara further contributed to a first-place finish for the Mixed 4x50m IM relay team.

Ethan E. powered his way to first place in the 50m freestyle and was also a member of the winning Mixed 4x50m IM relay squad, adding a second-place finish in the 100m freestyle.

Jaxen S. helped secure the top spot in the Mixed 4x50m IM relay, earning a second-place finish in the 50m freestyle and third-place finishes in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke events. A major achievement was hitting the AA time standard in the 100m breaststroke.

Ali D. delivered a strong personal performance, achieving a new personal best time en route to a fifth-place finish in the 50m breaststroke.

Zoe C. demonstrated remarkable endurance and skill, earning a second-place finish in the grueling 1500m freestyle, along with third-place results in the 200m butterfly, 50m backstroke, and 400m IM.

Sophia W. was another key member of the first-place Mixed 4x50m IM relay team and achieved an “A” time standard in the 50m butterfly.

The strong collective results have set a positive tone for the Sharks as they look ahead to the rest of the season. Congratulations to all the swimmers on an excellent meet. The club eagerly anticipates seeing their continued excellence at the upcoming championship events.
