Bunge provides lentils to Regina Food Bank
Up to 105 tonnes of Saskatchewan-grown lentils will help feed families in need.
The Regina Food Bank and Bunge launched Bunge Farmers Feeding Families. The program will see the company donating up to 105 tonnes of locally grown lentils each year with an estimated value of $250,000.
The lentils will provide nutritious food to help feed individuals and families facing food insecurity in the region. Lentils offer high nutritional value, are shelf-stable, and can be used in a wide variety of meals.
The donation will support the Regina Food Bank’s ability to provide a consistent, plant protein option to neighbours in need while also highlighting the important role local agriculture plays in community well-being.
