SaskPower named major sponsor of 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games

SaskPower has been named a key sponsor of the 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, supporting both the Athlete’s Village and the medals awarded across all competitions.

As part of Friday’s announcement, the Saskatchewan Winter Games Host Committee said SaskPower’s sponsorship will help create a supportive Athlete’s Village for participants and fund the medals recognizing athletes’ achievements throughout the Games.

The support will reach athletes from their time in the Village to the medal podium.

“The Saskatchewan Winter Games are about bringing communities together and celebrating the dedication of young athletes from across the province,” said Games Manager Brittani Dunsing in a statement.

Sponsorship of the Athlete’s Village is intended to ensure athletes have a safe and comfortable place to rest and connect, while sponsorship of the medals recognizes excellence, perseverance and sportsmanship.

“Investing in our province is a key priority at SaskPower. We live here, we work here, our kids go to school here,” said SaskPower president and CEO Rupen Pandya.

“Partnering with the Saskatchewan Winter Games helps our athletes focus on performing to their highest potential and strengthens connections across our province through sport.”

The 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, co-hosted by Meadow Lake and Flying Dust First Nation, are expected to welcome thousands of athletes, coaches, officials and spectators from across the province.

The host committee said partnerships such as SaskPower’s are essential to delivering the Games and leaving a positive legacy for the host communities.
