A Prince Albert Raiders defenceman has been recognized for his great play on the ice over the last week.

Prince Albert blueliner and assistant captain Daxon Rudolph was named the WHL’s Tempo Player of the Week, the first time a Raider has won the award this season.

The 17-year-old posted six points (2g-4a) and a +3 rating the three contests over the last week, in which the Raiders were victors in all three. This season, Rudolph has 48 points (20g-28a) in 41 games, leading P.A. while ranking fourth in league scoring amongst defencemen.

The 2026 NHL Draft-eligible prospect got his week started with a multi-point effort during a 5-2 win against Brandon on Tuesday, scoring the game’s first goal while collecting the primary assist on Owen Corkish’s third period insurance marker. The party didn’t stop for Rudolph as the Raiders trekked into Southern Alberta over the weekend. The Lacombe, Alta. product felt right at home as in Lethbridge, he picked up the primary assist on Alisher Sarkenov’s first-period marker in a 3-1 victory.

The following night on Saturday in Medicine Hat, he had the best game of the week in the unofficial game of the week, as the Raiders squared off with the red-hot Tigers. Medicine Hat’s 19-game win streak didn’t phase Rudolph or Prince Albert, as the big body d-man came away with a three-point effort (1g-2a) to help the Raiders prevail 8-5.

Elsewhere this season, Rudolph was an assistant captain for Team CHL at the 2025 CHL USA Prospects Challenge in Calgary, where he came away with two assists. Next, he’ll represent Team East at the inaugural WHL Prospects Game, slated for Wednesday, February 18 in Langley, B.C.

Over his career, Rudolph has appeared in 105 career games with P.A., potting 89 points (27g-62a).

Rudolph and the Raiders back in action on Jan. 20 when they host the Victoria Royals for their only meeting of the season. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
