Healthcare Union says hospital safety concerns connected to staffing and capacity challenges
The President of a Saskatchewan health care union says safety concerns at the province’s hospitals are not isolated to Saskatoon or Regina.
Recent events at Royal University Hospital and St. Paul’s hospital have prompted calls for action.
CUPE 5430’s Bashir Jalloh was asked by paNOW to comment on complaints he may have received from members who work at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert.
He stated one of the issues lies with the fact staff members now park in front of the hospital where there is a growing congregation of people.
“There’s a lot of theft from their vehicles, they are facing a lot of harassment when they are walking to their car,” he said.
