The Prince Albert Police Service is asking the public to be on the lookout for an older model, dark-coloured SUV that was involved in a shooting on New Year’s Eve.

Just before 10:30 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of 20th Street East for a weapons complaint. A firearm was discharged at a home, but there were no injuries. Investigators obtained video surveillance which shows the suspect vehicle parked outside the residence. A man exits the vehicle and shoots at the home before fleeing down 20th Street.

If you see the vehicle, police advise not to approach it, and call police as soon as possible.

Police officers in Prince Albert also continue to investigate an assault and vehicle theft at gunpoint. Four suspects – two men and two women – are wanted in connection to the incident that happened shortly after 9 a.m. on Dec. 29.

Police were called to the 800 block of First Street East for a report of a robbery in progress. Investigators learned a man was giving a ride to four people when he was allegedly assaulted and robbed of the vehicle at gunpoint. Responding officers located the stolen truck unoccupied in a parking lot in the 2800 block of Dunn Drive. Police are still looking for the suspects.

In a separate incident on Dec. 31, shortly after 8 a.m., a truck pulled up beside a vehicle, a female got out of the truck and tried to open the vehicle door while repeatedly asking the victim to exit the car. The victim was assaulted before the suspect got back into the truck and drove away; however, ambulance assistance was not required.

After further investigation, officers were able to locate the truck parked in the 600 block of 28th Street West. Police then headed to a house where two people were arrested without further incident. A 40-year-old man was charged with robbery. Police said, at this time, no charges have been laid against the 34-year-old female suspect.

Later that morning, officers were dispatched to the unit block of 28th Street East for a report of an assault with a weapon. They found a man who had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital for further care. Through their investigation, officers learned the incident was believed to have occurred at a residence in the unit block of 28th Street East. Police attended the residence and one man inside the home was detained but eventually released from custody.

The Prince Albert Police Service said officers continue to investigate all of the incidents and ask anyone with information to contact them at 306-953-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
