Measles exposure at Comfort Inn in North Battleford

Dec 26, 2025 | 9:17 AM

People who were at the Comfort Inn on Carlton Trail in North Battleford are being warned that they may have been exposed to measles.

The exposure came from a confirmed case and would have exposed the people who were in the breakfast area between December 15 and 18, beginning at 5:30 am and continuing until 11:30 am.

Symptoms of measles include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, fatigue, irritability, small white spots inside your mouth and throat and a red blotchy rash that starts in face and spreads down the body between three and seven days after symptoms start.

The SHA said that measles is highly contagious and spreads very easily through the air.

The virus can live up to two hours in the air or on surfaces where the infected person coughed or eneeds.

It can spread from four days before a rash appears until four days after a rash develops. Through this period, a person needs to stay in strict isolation to avoid spreading the infection to others.

Anyone that has the symptoms and was at the Comfort Inn during those times should call HealthLine 811 for information.

People can also contact their doctor or nurse practitioner and tell them they may have been exposed to measles.

Anyone with symptoms should call ahead before going to the clinic or ER so staff can take precautions to avoid further transmission.

Measles is prevented by vaccination. The measles vaccine is safe, effective and free. Please review your immunizations in your MySaskHealthRecord or discuss with your health practitioner to ensure your immunizations are up to date.
