It’s been a long five years for PSD Kal, a four-legged member of the Prince Albert Police Service, so he is hanging up his collar.

PSD Kal is originally from Slovakia and joined the Prince Albert Police in 2019 after a stint with the Medicine Hat Police Service.

“Kal helped serve our community by always stepping up where his expertise was needed, mainly working alongside our Patrol Division, but also assisting the Major Crimes Unit (MCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and our Crime Reduction Team (CRT),” said the PA Police in their announcement that Kal would be retiring.

Kal spent his time in the city working with Constable Brown and was part of the Canadian Police Canine Association Police Dog Trials on two occasions.
