Dec 17, 2025 | 12:14 PM

With five wins in a row in the span of nine days, the Prince Albert Raiders are set to go on the road one final time before the looming Christmas break. With a blizzard coming through Saskatchewan threatening the game, the Raiders will get set to go against the Regina Pats.

This is the third meeting of the season between the Raiders and the Pats. The Raiders have won both, the first in Regina on September 26 where the Raiders won 6-4, and the second on October 17 in Prince Albert where the Raiders won 6-5.

Coming into the action, the Raiders are the top ranked team in the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-4-4 (Wins-Losses-Overtime Losses). The Raiders won five straight games after playing three games in three nights two weekends in a row.

As for the Pats, they are sitting at a record of 10-17-3 on the year, sitting in a three way tie for second last in the Eastern Conference and in the league. The Pats have lost 10 of their last 11, most recently a 8-5 against Kelowna, then a 4-0 win over Saskatoon that ended a nine-game losing skid.

The Raiders’ newly tweaked Prince Albert Raiders powerplay has started to find some momentum, now ranked 14th in the league at 24.3 per cent. As for the penalty kill, it sits at 77.2 per cent on the season for the 11th spot in the league.

The Pats’ powerplay is ranked eighth in the league at 26.9 per cent on the season. Their penalty kill has struggled though, sitting tied for 19th in the league at 70.2 per cent.

Leading the Raiders in scoring is Aiden Oiring with 13G-19A-32P, followed by Riley Boychuk in second at 5G-25A-30P. There’s a tie for third between Daxon Rudolph and the newly acquired Brandon Gorzynski at 13G-16A-29P.

Brock Cripps comes into the game riding a seven-game point streak with 1G-6A capped off by his third goal of the season. Daxon Rudolph is right behind him with goals in five straight games and a six game point streak with 6G-5A. Linden Burrett (0G-4A) and Brayden Dube (2G-1A) are both riding three-game streaks, and Riley Boychuk has 0G-4A in the last two games. Brandon Gorzynski also has 2G-2A in his last two games before joining the Raiders.

As for the Pats, the trade of Julien Maze means it’s now defenceman Keets Fawcett and forward Caden Brown who share the lead of the Pats scoring with 18G-10A-28P. Next is Zach Lansard with 11G-14A-25P, and Matt Paranych sits third with 3G-19A-22P.

Most recently, Matt Paranych has the hot hand with 2G-4A in the last three games. Also in the last three games, Ruslan Karimov has 2G-3A and Caden Brown has 2G-1A. In the last two games, Liam Pue and Zach Lansard both have 1G-2A in the last two games.

In goal, the Raiders are still without Michal Orsulak, so it’s the tandem of Dimitri Fortin and Steele Bass. Fortin comes in with a 10-1-1 record, a 0.880 save percentage, a 3.06 goals against average, and one shutout on the year. Bass has played two games with Raiders this year and has won both, along with a 0.878 save percentage, and a 2.50 goals against average.

For the Pats, they have three goaltenders that have run things this year. Acquired from Moose Jaw, Matthew Hutchinson started 17 games this year including the Pats most recent game and he has a 7-9-0 record, 0.871 save percentage, and a 4.42 goals against average. Marek Schlenker has 20 starts, he has a 6-9-1-1 record with a 0.885 save percentage, and a 3.81 goals against average. Finally there’s the young Taylor Tabashniuk with a 2-3-0 record, a 0.870 save percentage, and a 3.56 goals against average.

The Raiders and Pats are scheduled to play their third game of the season against each other at 7 p.m. You can listen in to the action on 900 CKBI starting with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.
