Sharks make big splash at Regional competition in Winnipeg
The Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club traveled to Winnipeg last weekend for the Prairie Winter International (PWI) Swimming Championships and returned home with a number of medals and club records.
The competition is a major regional event, attracting top swimmers from across the Prairies and beyond.
Clara Gelhorn led the charge for the Sharks, breaking the club record in the 100m backstroke and then shattering the 200m backstroke record twice — first in preliminaries and again in the final.
She claimed a gold medal in the 200m backstroke and added bronze medals in the 100m backstroke and 400m individual medley (IM), achieving personal bests in every event.
